Keeping score

Wednesday, February 5th, 2014

We’re very excited to have licensed an instrumental version of our song “Next Big Thing” exclusively to the Scorekeepers music library. The LA-based library discovered our music via TAXI, and we were able to get a deal together in short order.

Scorekeepers has provided music for a huge variety of films and TV shows, so we’re excited about the possibility of our music showing up somewhere “in the wild”. ¬†If you happen to hear it, drop us a line!

Here’s the instrumental version:

Get Up

DD69 presents: Get Up

Despite the fact that we released our fourth record “Get Up” on 6/9, we didn’t actually have CDs at the time. As mentioned previously here, even though it is considered by many to be an archaic medium, we still like to get a small batch of CDs manufactured for each release.

So after the online release in June, there were several months of reality to manage. Some was fun (summer, yay!) and some was not quite as much fun (reality, boo!). Now that things are settling down into the fall season, we’re picking up on our songwriting and recording. And we also finally got our CDs.

They’ll be available soon at CD Baby if you’re interested in picking one up. And as always, you can name your price (including free) for DD69 music downloads.

Our new album “Get Up” is online now (happy 6/9)!

drunkdude69: Get Up

It's so... grooovy.

We’re excited to debut our fourth album “Get Up” on our favorite day of the year. It’s available for download now, and we will have CDs available shortly. We’ve put together 10 new songs, including a kooky cover of the Tubes song “Gonna Get It Next Time”.

We’re still adhering to the “name your price” model of music distribution – which includes the option to download our music for free. If you’d like to contribute to our efforts we would certainly be grateful, but we don’t want to let something like, you know, money get in the way of you hearing our music.

We’re putting together some video for some of the songs (we haven’t decided what the first “single” will be), and we will have some new merch coming up. Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy listening to the music as much as we enjoyed making it.

And as always, thanks for your support!

Come see me at WMC Fest 2012!

We’re happy to be supporting Weapons of Mass Creation: a premier music festival and design conference right here in the CLE. It represents all of the things we really enjoy: new music, cool design, supporting local artists of all types, and yes, there will ¬†probably be beer.

We applaud the efforts of the folks at Go Media that put this festival together, and hope that it will continue to grow and evolve in the years to come!

Time flies

We’re about a month away from our self-imposed album release date, and the virtual pressure is on. Allegedly.

Okay, it’s true – there is no real pressure. We’re just trying to stick to a schedule that insures that we don’t waste too much time fooling around. We’re actually doing okay for the most part, so we are optimistic that we’ll meet our 6/9/12 goal.

We’ve been very fortunate to collaborate with several of our friends again: Jim Evans (drums), Jeff Beam (Bass), “Coach” Hanna (drums), and Jay Goodman (vocals). They are part of the extended DD69 family that we love to collaborate with.

So here we go down the slippery slide of one month’s time, trying to finish singing, playing, mixing and mastering record number 4. More to come…
